Tanzania Safaris Built From Experience, Passion and Purpose

At Hadzabe Safari Adventure Ltd, we believe a safari should be more than simply seeing wildlife. It should be a meaningful journey into Tanzania's wilderness, wildlife, people, culture, and natural heritage. Our story began with a personal dream and grew into a family owned Tanzanian safari company built on more than two decades of experience.

About Us

From Mount Kilimanjaro to a Life in Safari

The journey of our founder, Herman Kyara, began in Tanzania's tourism industry in 2003, driven by a passion for mountains, nature, wildlife, and adventure. Between 2003 and 2005, Herman followed his dream by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, experiences that created a deep connection with Tanzania's spectacular landscapes and inspired him to build a career around sharing the country's natural beauty with visitors from around the world.

In 2006, Herman joined Abercrombie and Kent as a company representative, welcoming international travelers to Tanzania. His passion for wildlife continued to grow, and in 2009 he was promoted to safari guide. Between 2009 and 2011, Herman worked directly in Tanzania's wilderness, developing firsthand knowledge of wildlife, national parks, ecosystems, landscapes, and how to create meaningful experiences for guests. From 2011 to 2016, he continued building his career with another safari company, gaining further experience in guiding, operations, and guest services.

After more than a decade in the tourism industry, Herman and his wife decided to build something of their own. In 2017, they established Hadzabe Safari Adventure Ltd, and today Herman brings more than 20 years of experience to every safari the company organizes.

Meet Our Founder, Herman Kyara

Herman's journey from mountain climber to safari guide and finally safari company owner sits at the heart of Hadzabe Safari Adventure. His experience spans the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru to Tanzania's most celebrated wildlife destinations. For Herman, safari is not only about wildlife, it is about people, culture, nature, conservation, and creating genuine connections between visitors and Tanzania.

Herman communicates with guests in four languages, Swahili, Chagga, English, and German, helping international travelers feel comfortable and understood from their first inquiry through to the end of their safari. This multilingual ability reflects the personal service at the core of the company. When you contact Hadzabe Safari Adventure, you are speaking with people who understand Tanzania personally, not a booking platform.

Our Special Connection to the Hadzabe Community

The Hadzabe people are at the heart of our company's identity and mission. As one of Tanzania's indigenous communities, the Hadzabe have maintained a traditional hunter gatherer way of life for generations, holding an extraordinary body of knowledge about the land, wildlife, and natural environment. Their traditional way of life faces increasing pressure from land use change, modernization, and other social and environmental challenges.

For us, the Hadzabe are not simply a tourist attraction. They are people with a living culture, history, and identity that deserve respect. One of our main goals is to raise awareness about the Hadzabe people and support the protection of their cultural heritage through responsible, respectful tourism.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create unforgettable Tanzania safari experiences while contributing to the protection of wildlife, nature, and cultural heritage, especially by raising awareness about the Hadzabe people and their unique traditional way of life. We want tourism to create memories for travelers while helping preserve the places, cultures, and wildlife that make Tanzania special.

Our Vision

To become a trusted Tanzania safari company known for authentic experiences, professional guiding, responsible tourism, and meaningful support for wildlife, local communities, and indigenous cultural heritage.
